Oliver! up for two awards
Enniskillen Light Operatic (ELO) is celebrating not one, but two nominations for awards for its pre-Christmas run of Oliver! at the Ardhowen Theatre.
Mr. Vincent Ryan, Chairperson of ELO, told members at a recent final celebration event that the National Operatic and Drama Association (NODA) had listed the group in two Northern Ireland categories for its 2011 award ceremony to be held in England in June.
Oliver! has been shortlisted for both Best Show and Best Technology and Staging.
The awards ceremony will take place in Hereford.
"This is the first time we have been nominated. It really is a recognition of the great talent we have in Fermanagh and beyond. We are a cross-community group as well as bringing together people of all ages. This has revitalised it and encouraged people to become involved in amateur drama. We look forward in the future to working with the whole community," said Mr. Ryan.
The show was directed by Garvan Gallagher and musical direction was by Grainne Hanratty with Irene Kernoghan as Chorus Director.
