Man seen unrinating outside church and courthouse on same night
A 36-year-old man seen urinating outside a church was spotted half an hour later urinating beside Enniskillen Courthouse.
Mark Gilmurray, of Clarnagh Road, Tempo, appeared at Fermanagh Court and pleaded guilty to two charges of indecent behaviour. He also admitted being disorderly.
He was fined £295.
A prosecutor told the court that at 2am on November 20, last year, police on duty at Church Street in Enniskillen saw Gilmurray with his trousers undone, urinating outside St. Macartin's Cathedral. He was highly intoxicated and shouted "nothing but a f--king fairy".
The court was told that approximately 30 minutes later Gilmurray was spotted in East Bridge Street, again with his trousers undone, urinating against railings adjacent to Enniskillen Courthouse.
Defence solicitor, Mr. John Quinn, said Gilmurray had met up with a group of friends from his college days and drank more than he should have and was accustomed to. The offences were committed as he was making his way through the town to get a taxi. He had very little recollection of events.
District Judge Mervyn Bates noted that one incident was at a church and the other adjacent to the courthouse.
He advised Gilmurray: "If you go out with your college friends just be a bit more circumspect about what you drink."
