A 17-year-old boy has appeared at the Youth Court in Enniskillen charged with raping a girl at a house in the town in the early hours of last Thursday morning.

The boy cannot be named because he is a juvenile.

He initially appeared at Dungannon Magistrate's Court last Friday when he was remanded in custody.

He is charged with raping the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on February 16.

The alleged victim is in her late teens.

The boy is also charged with attacking the girl, occasioning her actual bodily harm, on the same day, February 16.

A prosecutor told the Youth Court in Enniskillen that the Public Prosecution Service had requested police to provide a full file of evidence on the case.

There was no application for bail and the boy was remanded in continuing custody to appear at the Youth Court by video link on March 28.

District Judge Liam McNally told the boy his solicitor, Mr. Bernard Corrigan, would advise him of his right to apply to be released on bail.
