Murder accused Raymond Johnston arriving at Enniskillen Court.

A 33-year-old man has been remanded in custody, charged with murdering his brother.

Raymond Johnston, of Coleshill Park, Enniskillen, appeared in the dock of Fermanagh Magistrate's Court flanked by two prison officers.

He is charged with murdering his 32-year-old brother, David Andrew Johnston, on Friday, July 13.

He spoke only to confirm that he understood the charge.

A detective constable said he believed he could connect Johnston with the charge.

District Judge Liam McNally asked the officer to outline the background to the case.

The detective said police were called to the scene of a stabbing in the Killesher area of Florencecourt on Friday and as a result of inquiries Johnston was arrested and charged with murder.

Defence solicitor, Miss Alison Brimstone, said there would be no application for bail.

Female family members sitting at the back of the court wept as Johnston was led away.

Johnston was remanded in custody to appear at Fermanagh Magistrate's Court by video link on August 13.
