AUDIO: Quinn speaks on 1-1 draw with Otago
Published: 23 Jul 2012 16:25
The Fermanagh Premier side picked up their first point in this year's Milk Cup with a 1-1 draw with New Zealand side Otago today at Castlerock.
It was Otago who had taken the lead on the stroke of half time when a speculative cross from left went all the way over keeper McDonald and into far top corner.
However, John Quinn's Fermanagh side responded superbly in the second half and 11 minutes into the second period they levelled matters with Jason Cluff's effort deflecting over the big New Zealand side's goalkeeper and into the net.
And the Fermanagh boys pushed on in the final quarter but were unable to find a winNer as the game finished 1-1.
Earlier, Gerry Love's Junior side were in action against English outfit Swindon Town. However, they could not follow up their brilliant win over Cruz Azul as they fell to a 3-0 defeat although the result was harsh on the Fermanagh side who had more than held their own throughout only to concede two late goals.
Listen to John Quinn's views of Monday's game in audio clip below.
