As part of the Mummers' Foundation contribution towards National Heritage Week (which continues until this Saturday, August 25), the Mummers' Centre will again be throwing open its doors this Thursday, August 23.
Free public strawcraft workshops ranging from the making of harvest love-knots to frightening mumming straw masks will be available for beginners to try out from 10.30am to 3.30pm. The Heritage Open Day proved to be a most popular event last year before children returned to school, with parents also keen to learn traditional skills. Also available throughout the day will be free guided tours of the mumming exhibition. Jim Ledwith can be contacted for details.
