Neven Maguire and his wife, Amelda celebrate the awards at the event in Dublin's Convention Centre on Sunday.

It was a double success for Neven Maguire and the McNean House and Restaurant at Blacklion who were voted the top chef and top restaurant in Ulster respectively at the Food and Wine Magazine/Maison Louis Latour Restaurant of the Year awards announced on Sunday.

The awards were announced at a gala luncheon in Dublin's Convention Centre.

Afterwards Neven said, "What a great day. Delighted. Congrats to all the team."

Speaking at the awards Louis Fabrice Latour, President of Maison Louis Latour said, "Our partnership with The FOOD&WINE Magazine Restaurant of the Year Awards both acknowledges the work of Febvre and Company, with its excellent network in the Irish hospitality industry and enables us at Maison Louis Latour enhance our position as a producer of some of the finest Burgundian wines.  It also offers us an opportunity to introduce Simmonet-Febvre, our property in Chablis and Henry Fessy in the Beaujolais to Ireland's finest restaurateurs and hoteliers."

The judges included 26 representatives of various food publications and organisations. Readers of Food and Wine magazine were asked to nominate their favourite restaurant, chefs and sommeliers and the regional panel of judges created a shortlist of nominations. A panel of national judges voted on the overall winners of Best Chef and Best Restaurant.
