Volunteers are providing a friendly welcome to patients and visitors at the new South West Acute Hospital.

Patients visiting the hospital, which opened in June, are welcomed by volunteers when they arrive at the hospital.

Anne Love, Western Trust Volunteer Services Manager commented: "The meet and greet volunteers provide a warm welcome to members of the public when they attend the hospital for treatment or to visit relatives. If you are unsure where to go, the volunteers are on hand to assist by directing you to your destination and helping users of our service with the new touch screen check-in system."

Anne added: "This is a new hospital and we are all learning our way around. We truly value the contribution that our volunteers are making to the overall patient and visitor experience at the South West Acute Hospital."

Joe Lusby, Western Trust Deputy Chief Executive said: "The response from the general public to our volunteers has been outstanding and their help is very much appreciated by the public and staff alike."

The Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust) gratefully acknowledges the dedication and commitment of the volunteers.
