Rotary's Ladies' Midnight Walk steps into action

The Enniskillen Rotary Club's Ladies' Midnight Walk on behalf of Horizon West is due to spring into action at midnight (today, Friday).

Hundreds of local women will don their walking shoes as they participate in the popular event, which has become an established autumnal date in the county.

Organiser Bob Baird, an Enniskillen Rotarian, will set the walk in motion as it moves off en masse from the Lakeland Forum and takes in a route around Enniskillen. It will be fully lit and fully marshalled, explained Bob, who pointed out that people can still register between 11pm and 12 midnight this evening. Several hundred participants have already pre-registered and it is expected that there will be a rush on the night.

Tee-shirts will be provided for new walkers, while everyone will receive flashing bunny ears - all of which will combine to create a colourful spectacle as the walk makes its way around the lakeland town.

This is Bob's fourth year to organise the successful event and so far it has raised £32,000 for Horizon West.
