Third time unlucky for wannabe motorcyclist

A 23-year-old man has been given a suspended jail sentence for taking his brother's motorcycle without permission and driving without insurance for the third time.
Darren Armstrong, of Ashdale, Chanterhill, Enniskillen, appeared at Fermanagh Court and admitted the offences. He was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for two years, and given eight penalty points, resulting in a six-month driving ban. He was also fined £50.
A prosecutor told the court that at approximately 10.45pm on July 11, police stopped Armstrong riding an Aprilla motorcycle at Queen Street in Enniskillen. He told them he had bought the bike three weeks previously and was insured. The following day the police stopped Armstrong's brother riding the motorcycle on the Wellington Road in Enniskillen. He told them he was the owner and the only person permitted to ride it. The officers then went to Armstrong's home, where he confirmed that he had been riding the bike the previous night without insurance and his brother's permission.
District Judge Liam McNally told Armstrong: "This is your third conviction for driving without insurance. That's going to have to stop."
