FAMILIES concerned for the future of children's heart surgery in Northern Ireland bravely gave their own personal accounts of what the services at Belfast's Clark Clinic mean to them during a meeting on Tuesday night.
Over 100 people from Fermanagh turned out in support of the Children's Heartbeat Trust's campaign to retain the unit.
A recent review found that although the services were safe, they were not sustainable. It means families may potentially be forced to travel to Birmingham or London for lifesaving surgery in the future.
Bellanaleck mum, Jennifer Keys, whose son Alfie has undergone two rounds of open heart surgery says Fermanagh families made it clear at the meeting that they are not prepared to see Clark Clinic close.
