WELB'S Youth Service South West Division has secured a new funding programme to provide Winter Projects aimed at assisting young people living in areas of deprivation.

It is hoped the Projects for ages 13 to 18-years-old will divert young people from getting involved in risk-taking behaviour as well as be developmental in nature.

They will focus on improving the quality of life for young people, by helping to increase their understanding of anti-social behaviour and their health and wellbeing.

Programmes aimed at young people who are not engaged in the youth service may receive enhanced funding if this is verifiable and clearly articulated in the application.

A WELB Youth Service spokesperson has outlined that those interested in obtaining an application pack should contact their local Area Youth Office on: (028) 6634 3900 email: aine.mcgahey@welbni.org.

Completed applications should be returned to your local Area Youth Office by Friday, October 12.
