Brothers Frankie and Eddie Roofe who travelled today Tuesday to compete in the World Championships for Boat Fishing with Lures in the Ukraine.

Two Enniskillen brothers leave to-day(Tuesday) for the Ukraine as part of a four-man Irish team competing in the World Championships for Boat Fishing with Lures.

The team of Frankie and Eddie Roofe, along with Joe McDermott from Longford and Michael Dalton from Westmeath, will be the first from Ireland selected to fish at this event.

During the weeklong event, the Irish team are expected to catch a variety of fish including zander, perch, pike and trout, all from bait cast from lines.

The next World Championships in 2013 could be held in Fermanagh. The governing body has placed a bid to have the event held here, possibly on the waters of Lough Erne in October 2013.
