A 25-year-old man was taking his girlfriend to the doctor when he was stopped by police and found to be driving without insurance.

David Curry, of Old Mill Court, Lisbellaw, was fined £250 and given eight penalty points, resulting in a six-month driving ban, when he admitted the offence.

A prosecutor told Fermanagh Court that at 11.40am on October 9, police stopped Curry driving a Vauxhall Astra at Mill Street in Enniskillen and on checking discovered he was not insured.

Defence solicitor Daragh Montague said Curry was bringing his girlfriend to the doctor. She was in the back seat in her pyjamas. He sold the car two days later.
