Tom Elliott.

ULSTER Unionist MLA Tom Elliott has said he will consider accepting an invitation to speak at tomorrow night's loyalist protest in Enniskillen if organisers hold it when shops have closed.

Mr Elliott has appealed to Fermanagh Loyalist Forum not to disrupt late night trading.

Speaking to impartialreporter.com, he said: "I have asked them to put the event back to a later time or indeed, move it out of the town altogether. If they talk to me and consider these options then I will consider accepting their invitation to speak at it."

The protest -- in response to Belfast City Hall's decision to only fly the union flag on designated days -- will be the third loyalist protest here in the last seven days.

A police source has told impartialreporter.com that officers are aware of the protest and are gearing up to police it.
