Suspicious fire causes minor damage to Church Street premises

POLICE are appealing for information following a suspicious fire at a shop on Church Street, Enniskillen yesterday evening (Sunday).

Police and fire crews attended the scene at the outdoor clothing and footwear store beside Santander at around 4.45pm in response to a report of a smell of smoke coming from the mid terrace retail premises.

Two fire appliances from Enniskillen, two from Lisnaskea and one from Irvinestown were deployed.

The small fire caused minor damage.

Despite the fact that the NIFRS have said the incident involved a small electrical heater, police insist that investigations are still ongoing and that the cause of the fire has not yet been established.

The say they are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the time of the incident.
