TUV asks Orangemen to wear 'regalia' at flags protest
THE Traditional Unionist Voice in Fermanagh is calling on Orangemen to wear their regalia at its flag protest in Enniskillen tonight.
Via its Facebook page, Fermanagh TUV has asked protesters to meet at 8pm outside South West College and "man the [traffic] islands" close to Gaol Square.
"I have asked to pass on an invite to any Orange members to wear regalia in support of the protest," wrote a party spokesperson.
It will be the latest local protest in response to Belfast City Hall's decision to only fly the union flag on designated days, however it is the first time that organisers have asked for protesters to wear Orange regalia, something the Orange Order disagrees with.
Earlier this week, the Orange Order told The Newsletter that it was "inappropriate" for any member to wear Orange regalia when participating in protests not organised by the Institution.

Report commentAbout time these muppets wised up and got over the flag issue as there is more important issues in life than a rag flying on a pole. And as far as manning the traffic islands is concerned surely this is against the law, if antics like this were performed while the G8 summit is on I bet the offender would arrested on the spot, so why not now???
