BREAKING: Hoax bomb alert at Sinn Fein MP's home
A bomb alert at the home of Sinn Fein MP Michelle Gildernew has been declared a hoax.
According to Sinn Fein, a caller to the party's office in Dungannon this morning claimed a bomb had been left at Ms Gildernew's home.
The PSNI were contacted and after searching her home it was declared a hoax.
The mother-of-three said it was worrying but that she "would not be intimated" from representing the people of Fermanagh and South Tyrone.
In a statement, Ms Gildernew described the hoax bomb alert as a "despicable thing to do."
"Threats like this will only make me more determined to continue to represent the people of Fermanagh and South Tyrone and push ahead with my work within Sinn Féin."
"I and the rest of my colleagues in Sinn Féin will not be intimidated from our work by threats of this sort. While it is worrying that someone would target my family, they will not succeed in deflecting me from my work," she said.
Reacting to the news, Sinn Fein MLA Phil Flanagan said he was thinking about Ms Gildernew and her family.
He tweeted: "I'm sure she won't allow such events to intimidate her from her work representing us all."
