Additional security cameras have been erected in Fermanagh as the Police Service of Northern Ireland increases its safety measures for the G8 summit in a few weeks.

The PSNI is refusing to provide any information on the cameras that have been installed close to South West College and near the Lough Erne Yacht Club in recent days. According to a source, the cameras have been erected for the "protection of officers on duty and members of the public".

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police do not discuss details of specific security operations, howeverdo take security very seriously and are committed to ensuring the G8 event is safe and secure."
