Ederney claimed the Manor House SFL Division One title with a 3-09 to 1-10 victory over Devenish at Brewster Park today.

This was an entertaining encounter that saw little divide the sides throughout and with 15 minutes to go the sides were level.

However, Ederney dominated matters in the final quarter and an Enda Ferris goal with five minutes to go ensured that they would take the victory.

Devenish had started the brighter of the sides as points from John McNulty and Chris O'Brien gave them an early advantage.

However, back came Ederney and a fine goal from Paul McCusker helped them into a 1-02 to 0-02 lead.

With McNulty, O'Brien and John O'Flanagan among the points though Devenish hit back to level matters at 1-04 to 0-07 and the sides were then to swap goals before half time.

McCusker netted his second goal of the game when he collected a break before tucking it into the net but Devenish replied with a fisted McNulty goal to leave it 2-04 to 1-07 at the break.

Ederney were to move two ahead at the start of the second half with Aaron Dennison and Paul McCusker clipping over points but two John O'Flanagan points and one from play from Terry O'Flanagan had the Garrison side one ahead, 1-10 to 2-06.

The St. Joseph's outfit though finished the stronger and although they missed a number of chances, a McCusker free and a Ferris effort from the right put them two up with six to go.

And when Ferris got on the end of a flowing move to palm the ball to the net it secured a deserved victory for Iggy Gallagher's side as they finished up 3-09 to 1-10 winners.
