POLICE are dealing with a security alert in Fintona, County Tyrone, after an incident in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
Officers stopped a van in the Corbally Road area and two men were arrested shortly before 2am.
In a follow up operation a small number of houses have been evacuated and part of the Corbally Road has been closed.
ATO has been tasked to examine the van and police are currently conducting a search and security operation involving officers from F District and Crime Operations Department.
Police are advising motorists that the Tattymoyle Road between Fintona and Tempo is closed due to the ongoing security alert. Diversions are in place at the Lisdergan Road junction and Imeroo Crossroads. Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route where possible.
