Ballinamallard United slipped into the bottom two in the Danske Bank Premiership on goal difference following today's 2-2 draw with Dungannon Swifts at Ferney Park.

Warrenpoint Town moved above Ballinamallard in the table thanks to a 1-0 win over Ballymena United with the Mallards to play Warrenpoint in the final game of the season on Saturday.

Whitey Anderson's side had the better of matters in the first half today with Ryan Campbell scuffing a shot when well placed while Ballinamallard had a strong penalty appeal waved away when Nathan Cashel appeared to have his legs taken from under him by Cameron Grieve.

The goal though did arrive for the home side in the 38th minute as Jason McCartney steered a header from a Liam Martin cross into the corner of the net.

The second half though was a different affair with Dungannon much more dangerous and they were level in the 51st minute as Matt Hazley clipped a delightful free kick past Mallards goalkeeper Feargal Murphy.

And it got better for the Swifts as Andrew Burns headed home to make it 2-1.

Back though came Ballinamallard with an immediate response as Liam Martin curled home a terrific effort for 2-2 while it took a fine save from Turker to push a Mark Stafford header over the bar.

It was Swifts though who carried a greater threat in the final stages and it took a superb covering tackle from Craig Hill to deny Jamie Glackin while Liam Martin then made a last gasp clearance as Gary Liggett looked set to pounce.

Murphy was then to save from Liggett and Burns blazed wide as Ballinamallard held on for a point.
