Patrick Tierney, of Ashfield Road, Clogher, is accused of sexually assaulting a boy and three girls over a 10 year period between 1970 and 1980.

He denies all the charges.

Tierney faces 16 charges of indecently assaulting the boy on dates between February 19, 1970, and February 18, 1978.

A further 14 charges accuse him of committing an act of gross indecency with or towards the same child on dates between February 19, 1970, and February 18, 1977.

He faces 16 charges of indecently assaulting a female child between May 20, 1971, and May 19, 1979.

Tierney faces another 12 charges of indecently assaulting a second young girl between November 9, 1974, and November 8, 1980.

A further charge accuses him of indecently assaulting a third young girl on a date between January 1, 1974, and December 31, 1975.

In addition to the 59 charges of child sex abuse Tierney faces four charges that he committed an act of a lewd, obscene and disgusting nature by exposing himself.

The offences were allegedly committed between February 21, 1965, when Tierney was just 15, and December 31, 1969.

Two of the offences allegedly involved a boy. The other two charges refer to females but do not stipulate whether they were children or adults.

A reporting restriction prohibits publication of any information pertaining to the identification of the seven alleged victims.

Tierney was released on continuing bail to appear again at Dungannon Crown Court on September 22.
