Tamboran Resources has described the petrol bomb attack on the Letterbreen home of one of its security workers as "orchestrated and abhorrent".

A spokesman for the company which arrived at a Belcoo site to drill an exploratory borehole on Monday July 21 said: "Tamboran Resources has been informed of a serious incident that is currently being investigated by the PSNI.

"During the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday August 3) two petrol bombs were thrown at the house of one of our site workers in County Fermanagh. Thankfully there were no injuries.

"This was an orchestrated and abhorrent attack on a local family in the middle of the night. We condemn this latest attack that follows a number of unlawful incidents at our Belcoo site and threats that have been made to security staff."

He added that "the company is operating within the terms of the licence it was awarded by the Northern Ireland Executive to explore for natural gas in Northern Ireland.

"To date we have invested several millions pounds in the economy creating and supporting local jobs and using local contractors. Tamboran has received several hundred emails and requests from local people about employment opportunities," he stated.

"We know this behaviour is not reflective of the local people."

He concluded: "Tamboran fully respects the right to peaceful protest. We welcome calls from those who have called for any protests to be peaceful. However, we cannot ignore such attacks. We call on all local political, community and anti-fracking representatives to unequivocally condemn this petrol bombing attack and to encourage people to share any information they have with the PSNI".

Police in Enniskillen are appealing for information after a petrol bomb was thrown at the security worker's home at Station Road, Letterbreen at around 3.25 am.

They would like to speak to the driver of a dark coloured Audi estate car which was seen in the area at the time of the incident, who might be able to help them with their enquiries.

Police would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact them on the non-emergency number 101 or the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
