COONEEN man Christopher Hall will find out on live TV tonight if he has been crowned the winner of Big Brother 2014.

Six housemates have made it through to the final week of Channel 5’s reality TV show.

But according to the latest bookie odds, it is looking more like a ‘two horse race’ between the Fermanagh man and his Derry counterpart, Ashleigh Coyle.

A budding journalist who has just graduated in London, Christopher’s in-house relationship with Mark Byron has been a talking point over the course of the last few weeks.

Last week Christopher was visibly upset at his love interest’s departure from the house.

But speaking to the Impartial Reporter this week ahead of tomorrow night’s live final, his mum, Marie, said she was relieved the public has been able to see her son ‘in his own right’ in the last few days of Big Brother this year.

“He is coping well without Mark, I’m glad he is gone,” she said, “It means we see him in his own right.

“He and Mark are poles apart. We couldn’t see any future in it anyway.

“It is nice now that he is not under the thumb of Mark.

“I could see that he was fond of Mark, his feelings were genuine. But those feelings took a bit of a battering. I think Christopher was a bit vulnerable in that sense, his first-time experience.” Since last weekend’s public eviction Christopher’s friends and family from home have been busily putting up posters advertising the number to ring to vote for him in tomorrow’s final.

His two best friends from his years as a student at Portora Royal, will be waiting in the wings to greet him as he exits his life in the Big Brother house tomorrow.

“We are very proud of Christopher and we cannot wait to see him again,” said Marie, “What happens next depends on what happens on Friday night.

“But I think he will be looking forward to getting in touch with his family again and eventually getting to see us all and his collie dog, Lassie again. He is very fond of her. He has a picture of her on his phone screen saver.” Christopher’s mum has appealed to the people of Fermanagh to vote for her son as this year’s Big Brother winner.

To vote for Christopher, telephone 090 20 44 58 04 from a landline or 650 58 04 from a mobile.
