Tourism Ireland has launched a new online film, specially created to highlight Enniskillen, the Fermanagh Lakelands and the recent, hugely successful Happy Days International Beckett Festival.

The short film was produced by Tourism Ireland to highlight Beckett’s special connection with Fermanagh and to showcase Enniskillen and Fermanagh to potential visitors around the world. It features images of Enniskillen Castle, Devenish Island and Lower Lough Erne, the Marble Arch Caves, Blakes of the Hollow and the Jolly Sandwich café – giving people a flavour of what to expect when they visit.

It also includes interviews with Festival Director Seán Doran, actor Adrian Dunbar and writer Roy Foster.

Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “We are delighted to unveil our latest online film, which showcases Enniskillen and the wonderful Happy Days Festival, whetting people’s appetites to come and visit. High profile events like the Happy Days Festival provide a wonderful ‘hook’ for us to shine a spotlight on Fermanagh, and Northern Ireland, around the world.

"We know that Beckett had a special connection to Fermanagh through his schooldays, so this Festival was a wonderful opportunity to use that backdrop to showcase our literary tradition and the spectacular Fermanagh Lakelands to an international audience. We are inviting people around the world to come and experience Enniskillen and the spectacular Fermanagh Lakelands for themselves.” Tourism Ireland is sharing the film on social media.
