TWO men and a woman were assaulted in the early hours of Tuesday morning at a house on Ross Close, Kilmacormick.

Four males have been arrested following the incident, including a 23-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon with intent, grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.

Police say they are following all lines of inquiry at this stage of the investigation and that they are “investigating a report of an assault.” Shortly after 6:30am on Tuesday it was reported that two males were believed to have been assaulted in a house in the area.

A 36-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were taken to the South West Acute Hospital for treatment of their injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening. A 31-year-old female was also assaulted during the incident. Police say her injuries are not believed to be serious.

One male, aged 23, was arrested a short time later on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon with intent, grievous bodily harm and criminal damage. A 36-year-old man was arrested later on Tuesday in relation to the assault. Both men were released on police bail pending further enquiries.

In the early hours of Wednesday, police arrested two males, aged 35 and 33, in relation to the incident. Both men remain in police custody.
