TRILLICK teen Rebekah Glass has launched a DVD today (Tuesday) warning young people of the dangers of quads.

Rebekah was 14-years-old when, in a split second, her life was changed forever as a result of a quad bike accident.

Now 18, she hopes the DVD, a joint initiative between the PSNI and the NI Child Brain Injury Trust, will help others to learn from her experience.

'Rebekah's Story' was launched at Omagh Police Station.

PSNI Road Safety Education Officer, Constable Trevor Kirke said: “We have been working with Rebekah to produce a DVD which will be shown to teenagers to highlight the dangers of quad bikes. It is hoped Rebekah’s DVD will encourage young people to think before they act and, more importantly, to take the appropriate precautions.” Gayle Baird from the Child Brain Injury Trust added: “We work with families who have been affected by childhood acquired brain injury. Our role is to provide support with life at home and at school and to raise awareness of the problems people face. I would like to thank Rebekah for her work with the PSNI to raise awareness amongst her peers.” For more on the launch and Rebekah's story see this week's Impartial Reporter.
