“Why would you not?” Meaning: Another way to tell somebody that they are being idiotic for not doing what you want them to do.
Example: Bob to Charlie: “Here, have ye heard of this ice bucket thing?” Charlie to Bob: “Nah, what would that be, now?” Bob to Charlie: “Ye throw half a bucket of cowl watter over ye for charity and film it for the Facebook”.
Charlie to Bob: “Sure that would founder you”.
Bob to Charlie: “Will ye do it?” Charlie to Bob: “I will not”.
