Ballinamallard manager Whitey Anderson knows that his side are going to have to be at their best tonight if they are to come away with anything to show from their trip to Mourneview Park.

The Mallards suffered a 4-0 defeat at home to Cliftonville on Saturday and are still awaiting their first league win of the campaign having recorded three draws and two losses to date.

And Anderson is well aware of the task they face against last season's Irish Cup winners.

"Glenavon are a free scoring team. They score a lot of goals and are a threat in so many areas of the park but we will just have to focus on our own game and it is crucial that we try and get a result out of the game. The sooner we can get that first win on the board the better," he said.

He accepts though that they are going to have to defend better than they did against Cliftonville.

"We made schoolboy errors and we were made to pay for them so we have got to cut out the silly mistakes. We need a better line of communication between our goalkeeper and back four. Cliftonville are a quality side but the goals we gave away were poor," he commented.

Defender Steve Feeney will miss the game having sustained medial ligament damage against the Reds but Leon Carters should return to partner Mark Stafford in the centre of the defence while Johnny Lafferty should also come into the starting line up having sat out on Saturday due to GAA commitments.

Liam Martin and Stuart Hutchinson are also in contention to start having been on the bench on Saturday due to niggles.

Glenavon will be without influential midfielder and ex-Mallards Shane McCabe for the game after he received a red card in the Lurgan side's 2-1 win over Ballymena on Friday night.
