Ballinamallard suffered a fourth defeat of the season as Institute came from behind to take the points at Ferney Park today.

Ballinamallard had the better of things in the first half but it was Institute who took the lead in the tenth minute as Darren McFadden thumped the ball home from an acute angle.

However, with 18 minutes on the clock the Mallards were back on level terms through striker Anthony Elding.

Liam Martin clipped in a cross from the left and Elding volleyed home from close range while Johnny Lafferty rattled the crossbar as the Mallards looked to stamp their authority on proceedings.

And with half time approaching, the home side took the lead as Leon Carters turned the ball home from a miss-hit Davy Kee shot to leave it 2-1 at the break.

It was Institute though who were better side after the break as they came flying out of the blocks. Two minutes into the second half Institute equalised as Stephen O'Fynn nodded over the line from a Thomas McBride header across the face of the goal.

And the visitors struck for what to prove to be the winner in the 56th minute. Substitute Michael McCrudden, who was only on the pitch a matter of minutes, let fly with an unstoppable drive from 30 yards that gave Murphy no chance in the Mallards goal.
