‘A Quarter Ta’ Meaning: This is said when referring to 15 minutes before the top of the hour.
Example: Bob to Charlie: “Here, I doubt I’ll be late for that job this evenin’.” Charlie to Bob: “Try ‘n’ not be too late. Mrs. McCable is lookin’ the pair of us no later than half seven. She wants them skirtin’ boards sanded before the sister gets out of hospital. Half seven she said.” Bob to Charlie: “I’ll hurry me best but I doubt I’ll not be wit ye until about A Quarter Ta.
