Fermanagh made it three wins out of three in Division Three with a four point victory Tipperary at Brewster Park this afternoon.

The visitors had started brightly and led 0-04 to 0-01 early on but as the half wore on Fermanagh began to battle their way back into the contest and a Sean Quigley goal helped Pete McGrath's side go in level at half time.

The second half was tit for tat as the sides swapped scores but with nine minutes to go Paul McCusker palmed home a second Fermanagh goal and this proved decisive as the home side maintained the advantage to the finish.

A big, physical Tipp side though dominated the early proceedings and with Stephen O'Brien, Conor Sweeney, Barry Grogan and George Hannigan all on target they claimed a 0-04 to 0-01 lead, Fermanagh's sole point at this stage coming from a Sean Quigley free.

As the game progressed, Fermanagh began to become more prominent with Richard O'Callaghan impressing throughout the afternoon at midfield.

Marty O'Brien and Quigley tagged on points for the home side and although Tipp goalkeeper Evan Comerford landed a '45, Fermanagh took the lead when Sean Quigley collected a Declan McCusker diagonal ball before coolly finding the corner.

Quigley and Philip Austin then swapped points although Tipperary had the last say of the half when Michael Quinlivan punched over to leave it 1-04 to 0-07 at the interval.

There was little between the sides in the third quarter as the sides traded score for score.

Quigley, Tomas Corrigan and Ryan Jones (2) notched points for Fermanagh while Tipp had three pointed frees from Sweeney and a Sean Flynn effort from play to leave it 1-08 to 0-11 with ten minutes to go.

However, Fermanagh were to swoop for their second goal as a flowing move resulted in Quigley feeding McCusker to palm to an open net to make it 2-08 to 0-11.

And Fermanagh were to control things after this Quigley clipped over another free while Barry Mulrone made a great block on Daragh Dwyer to ensure McGrath's side finished up four point victors.

Next up is a top of the table clash against Armagh at the Athletic Grounds next Saturday night.
