A temporary play area is to be created in the Celtic Park playing fields area for use by pupils of Enniskillen Model Primary School.
The Western Education Authority will pay for the park as part of its overall school construction project.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council (FODC) officers recommend that Councillors give the park a go-ahead with a view to the park potentially providing the preparatory stages of a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) or a games area.
A report shown to Councillors at June’s Policy and Resources Committee states: “To this end the Education Authority have, in conjunction with Council Officers, identified an area of 15 by 25 metres which would be prepared to an agreed specification and would act as a playground space during the construction works and then could be further developed by the Council when the school works are completed. It has been agreed that the path will be kept well clear of the playing field and will help avoid school children crossing the field itself.
“The Education Authority would provide the foundation and bitmac finish with perimeter fencing, the level and extent of which will be determined by costs as the design develops.”
