A 25-year-old man was arrested in Brookeborough on Monday for possessing a crossbow after police received a report that a 29-year-old man had been assaulted in the village.
At around 9.40pm on Monday police received a report that the 29-year-old man had sustained an injury to his head. Officers conducted a search of a house in the Monmurray Road area and arrested a 25-year-old male for wounding with intent and possession of a Class A controlled drug.
A knife, crossbow, bolts and a small quantity of white powder were seized during the search. The 25-year-old man was interviewed and later released on bail pending further enquiries.
