A group of fathers representing Portora Boat Club’s Parents’ Support Group - who are currently undertaking a 400 miles’ cycle across Ireland - set off this morning, Tuesday, on the second leg of their journey (Enniskillen to Athlone).
The cyclists, who set off on their challenge from Malin Head on Sunday, July 5, intend to arrive in Cork in time for the start of the 2015 Irish Rowing Championships this weekend.
Hundreds of miles have been cycled in practice through wind, rain and shine, prior to the cycling dads’ departure.
Undeterred by the wet weather, their fundraising initiative in support of Portora Boat Club, is taking them from Malin Head in Donegal to Mizen Head in Cork, Ireland’s most northerly and southerly points.
