Dear Sir - Sinn Fein Councillor Flanagan's argument to those opposed to the draft assemblies Bill by citing "what's the alternative? does not stand-up. He claims that those opposed to the Bill should "explain to residents a plan to deal with contentious parades in the absence of the Bill." It is not the responsibility of residents to devise a plan per se, however, I would advise Councillor Flanagan the alternative to Nationalist communities being under siege and threat from loyalist parades is quite simple; the Orange Order should take an alternative route and not parade their triumphalist bands through areas they are not welcome.
This is something that Nationalist resident groups have been saying for years . Councillor Flanagan, it's time you woke up to your own concerns regarding the Bill and observe who's really pulling your strings. When Ogra was set up it was to be radical and not reformist.
Yours faithfully
Former Ográ Sinn Fein/Fermanagh
