Dear Sir, - On behalf of the Irvinestown Library Group we wish to thank everyone who supported our campaign to retain the opening hours of Irvinestown library when Libraries Northern Ireland proposed cutting them from 30 hours to 18 hours.

Special thanks go to: Irvinestown Controlled PS, St. Paul's PS, St. Joseph's PS, St Mary's College, the many individuals from Lack, Boa Island, Pettigo, Dromore, Lisnarick, Ederney, Kesh, Ballinamallard, Killadeas, Irvinestown, and from many other areas who signed our petition in churches, post offices, supermarkets and shops, the Irvinestown retailers and the Ladies of the Bannagh Craft Group who wrote protest letters to the Library Board NI and Fermanagh Community Network and Lorraine Maguire of ITEC whose clerical support was invaluable.

Support was also given by our local MLAs (Tom Elliott and Phil Flanagan), the chairperson and many members of Fermanagh District Council including John O'Kane and Raymond Farrell.

We thank FDC especially for commissioning a report from Peter Quinn Consultancy Services which was delivered superbly to representatives of the Library Board on Friday, December 21 by Donal O'Cofaigh stating the many facts and figures in favour of our campaign.

We were delighted to hear that at a meeting on Friday, January 20, Libraries NI decided that Irvinestown Library hours would remain at 30.

This success for our campaign is due to all the above and to everyone we say "thank you and well done".

Yours faithfully,

Irvinestown Library Support Group
