Dear Madam, - I am so angry with our politicians at this time of writing. I am 67 years of age and have seen every industry including public offices close here in Fermanagh. The only things left are farming and tourism.

I would like to ask some questions. One, when these people start drilling, what is put in place to stop any gas from escaping into the air? It is not not like dust or soil that you can sweep into a pile and lift.

Two, did you not see what destruction was caused in parts of America? One farmer was left with his water so foul smelling and dirty brown in colour that he or his animals could not drink it. Next his land became worthless because it was so contaminated and last but not least, nobody would buy any beef or any produce from his area.

Surely all health and environmental issues regarding the danger of fracking should be researched by every politician in NI and south of the border as pollution knows no boundaries.

All ministers should go to areas in America to see and talk to local people. Take the blinkers off before it is too late.

Lastly, people have been stopped from building homes in this area because of its natural beauty and environment, so why are a company like Tamboran allowed to concrete 60 six acre frack pads in this same area if fracking goes ahead?

I will finish with a plea to all our politicians north and south, for once in your lives, listen to the people.

Yours faithfully, Eileen Owens
