DEAR MADAM, - I am writing to you in regards to the meeting the CCMS set up with St. Mary’s Primary, Fivemiletown.

That meeting happened on October 27. The proposal is to cease educational provision in St. Mary’s Fivemiletown with effect from August 31, 2016.

Pupils will transfer to the school of the parents’ choice (transport will be the responsibility of the SELB). The only stress factor this school has is small numbers, the only thing we can do nothing about.

This is an excellent school in every way, the fact it is in Fivemiletown has the bonus of a swimming pool, library etc. in the village.

There are a lot of reasons why I think this school should stay open. It is at the heart of our community. We have until November 28 to make a response to consultation.stmarysps@ccmsschools.com I hope that this is as far as this will go. The closure of this school could be a great loss to the children and the community, Yours faithfully, SHARON GRAHAM Ash Brooke Road, Tempo, County Fermanagh BT94 3ED.
