Dear Madam, - I read with interest in your paper last week a letter signed by a supporter of the Collegiate. Whilst I also support the Collegiate, along with all schools in Fermanagh, I think the author of the letter has glossed over some important facts.

Mrs Foster of the DUP recently criticised UUP leader Mike Nesbitt by suggesting he failed to back the Collegiate in the Assembly It brings back to the fore, the old DUP tactic of attack being the best form of defence.

I would like to point out to your readers that it was the DUP Assembly Group who voted in the Sinn Fein speaker, the same speaker who failed to refer the Collegiate issue to the Executive.

One wonders why the DUP failed to concoct a deal with Sinn Fein, that the DUP would support a Sinn Fein speaker and in return Sinn Fein would refer the Collegiate issue to the Executive, instead they just supported the SF member for Speaker without anything in return.

I also note that two DUP Ministers have taken legal action against other Ministers, Mrs. Foster against the SDLP Minister, Mark H Durkan, whilst her DUP Executive Colleague, Simon Hamilton also commenced legal action against Sinn Fein Minister, Michelle O’Neill.

However, it seems Mrs. Foster has failed to take legal action on the Collegiate issue against Education Minister, John O’Dowd. I am perplexed as to why Mrs. Foster did not give the same amount of focus when Lisnaskea High School was going through the same process as the Collegiate is going through now.

She and her DUP colleagues may bluster a lot but have backed themselves into a corner.

Mrs. Foster and the DUP have a lot to answer for.

Yours faithfully, A supporter of all Schools in Fermanagh (including Lisnaskea High School)
