Fermanagh ladies U16 team will aim to bring home an Ulster title on Sunday afternoon when they take on Cavan, in Clones. The Breffni ladies provide stern opposition and go into this 'B' final off the back of a convincing win over Down last weekend. Fermanagh will be aiming to stop Cavan securing a hat trick of titles at juvenile level. They already boast the Ulster U14 and Minor 'B' titles. Joint Manager David Mee realises it won't be easy: "They (Cavan) gave Down a right going over in Kilcoo last weekend. Cavan won the U16 'B' title last year so I'm not sure why they're still even playing in the 'B' competition. Fermanagh have never won a Junior title so we want to break that duck," he says.

To get here Fermanagh narrowly defeated Derry in the quarter final on a score line of 2-09 to 2-08 and in the semi-final Antrim conceded the game, due to being unable to field a team. With a lot of new faces on this Fermanagh team Mee says they went to Derry and showed what they're made off.

"This is practically a whole new team and they have a big heart, as they showed against Derry. They're excited to be in an Ulster final and they're keen to get going," he says.

Unfortunately the timing of the final has ruled out Captain Tara McLoughlin who is on a family holiday. The disappointment of losing their talented full forward was felt throughout the team but no one felt it more than the Derrygonnelly player herself, says David: "She (Tara) was in tears going. She would have been the first out at training and is a very committed girl who loves playing for Fermanagh. The girls all saw how much it means to her to miss it and hopefully they'll win it for her and for themselves." Tempo's Ciara Cassidy will now Captain the side and David says his team are well capable of getting the win: "I'm confident. Clones is a big field and no matter what teams have done before doesn't count. It's all about who takes their chance and wants it most. I'm a big believer in 60 minutes of football and it's all about what happens on the day." The midfield pairing of Shauna McQuade and Daniel McManus will need to be on top of their game and up front the forwards will need to penetrate the Cavan rearguard. Bronagh McCaffrey and Kelly Woods will be two of the attackers who'll be looked to for scores, if Fermanagh are finally going to be crowned Ulster champions.

The final will be the curtain raiser to the Ulster Senior ladies final between Monaghan and Donegal.
