Although going down to Dungannon in their away encounter last week, Clogher Valley still remain serious contenders for the league title.

The Fivemiletown team dropped to second place after this defeat, but only trail new league leaders Dungannon by the single point with both having four fixtures remaining, two away and two at home each.

Ballybay who hold third position, cannot be written off at this stage, and with a game less played than the leading two could supply a major input into deciding who will collect the 'silverware' this season.

Enniskillen 8 points (63 shots) Sionmills 2 points (40 shots) With neither of these teams now in contention for league honours this season, this game was played at Celtic Park in a relaxed manner and thoroughly enjoyed by both.

Enniskillen looked to be winners from the early stages and eventually ended coming out on top comfortably in three out of the four games played.

David Dickson's Enniskillen rink of Teresa McCourt, Dennis Thornton and Dennis Croot dictated play in their encounter against Sion's Martin Rice and at the end of the 12 had gone into a convincing 17 shots to 5 lead. Although the visiting rink won all of the remaining three ends, David's team ended comfortable winners by 17 shots to 11.

Enniskillen continued their successful evening's play when Eric Hamilton accompanied by John Corrigan, Alex Morrow and Dessie Brown romped home to victory against P Martin. The Enniskillen rink chalked up a six in the third end and a five in the 11th to run out easy winners by 21 shots to 8.

A similar story on rink two where Wilfie Crawford skip, David Reilly, Janet Brown and Jude Morris for Enniskillen never really looked like losing to R Patton's Sionmills rink and eased victory by 15 shots to 8.

Enniskillen's only defeat of the evening took place on rink three where Andy Wray skip, Willie Coalter ,James McCaffery and Raymond Gault were evenly matched against P Rice's Sion rink, right up to the half way stage. After the visiting rink collected a total of nine shots in four consecutive ends they went on to edge victory by 13 shots to 10.

Dungannon 8 points (71 shots) Clogher Valley 2 points (40 shots) This important top of the table game in Dungannon could well have been the decider in this season's outdoor league and ended in what was expected, a win for the home team.

Clogher Valley were fully aware of the uphill battle this was going to be on the grass surface which they are not accustomed to and going home with two points was a satisfactory result for them.

Once again it was the consistent Clogher Valley rink of John Burrell skip, Frances Cartwright, Noel Clarke and Blayney Cartwright who were their only point winners. Although the Clogher Valley rink found themselves six shots down after the first four ends against Dungannon's J Haydock, they came back brilliantly to chalk up a game winning five shots in the tenth end and continue on to win by 13 shots to 10.

Willis Armstrong, James McAnenly, Maurice Malone and skip Billy Dunlop for Clogher Valley found their opposing rink skipped by A Rafferty all in superior form on the night and went down by 21 shots to 8 in a game that was always going to be won by the home side.

In a similar story Ernie Clarke's Clogher Valley rink of William Rutledge, Billy Kirkpatrick and Norman Browne never really got over the early shock of dropping seven shots to Dungannon's D Hughes and were completely outplayed to go downy a scoreline of 20 shots to 7.

Although Matt Livingstone skip and his Clogher Valley rink of Rosmary McAnenly, Ken Givens and Harold Nelson collected a four in the sixth end against Dungannon's B Cardwell, to level the score at six shots each, it was mainly downhill from then on, with Dungannon completing another victory by 21 shots to 12.
