Enniskillen Santos 2 NFC Kesh 7

Kesh ensured their Division One survival with a convincing 7-2 victory over Enniskillen Santos. The three points lifts them six points clear of the drop zone and preserves their top flight status for another season.
Alvin Anderson, Lee Walker and Aaron Graham bagged two goals apiece, with Kelvin McElroy also finding the net as they brushed aside a weakened Enniskillen side.
“The boys did really well and it couldn’t have worked out any better for us,” said Kesh manager Jordan Ellis. “Once we got the first goal we seemed to grow in confidence and we had the game won by half time. We lost our way a bit in the second half and it was a lot tighter. We weren’t as aggressive with the pressing and closing down as we had been in the first half when we were really on top. We let them back into it and they played a lot better in the second half but we saw the job out well and that is us safe from relegation. We have really pulled together this last while and we have done really well. It’s nice to get it wrapped up early and now we have three games left and we will try to enjoy ourselves.”
Kesh were without the influential Mark Jones due to an injury picked up in Saturday’s game and Niall McMenamin was on the bench, but despite not fielding their first choice eleven they dominated the early stages of the match, scoring six goals in the opening half to all but end the game as a contest. The first fifteen minutes showed little sign of what was to follow, with both sides evenly matched, however once Kesh grabbed the first goal the floodgates opened.
The deadlock was broken when Ollie Russell broke down the left and cut the ball back into the area. Aaron Graham just failed to make a connection with the cross, but Alvin Anderson made no mistake with a drive that took a slight deflection on its way to the top corner of the net.
Five minutes later Kesh doubled their lead when Lee walker’s corner sailed over the goal keeper and in at the far post, and then Aaron Graham made it three when he ran on to a long ball and fired into the net from eighteen yards.
Three quickly became four when Lee Walker blasted one into the roof of the net from the edge of the area. Jason Keenan pulled one back for Santos with a low drive through a crowd of players across the goal keeper, but Kesh responded through Aaron Graham and Kelvin McElroy to make it 6-1 at half time.
Midway through the second half Alvin Anderson added a seventh when he tapped in after the keeper had saved from Lee Walker. Santos pulled one back.
Jason Keenan was again on target with ten minutes remaining but it was too late to affect the outcome of the game, with Santos remaining seventh in the league table
