Roslea 3-07 Derrygonnelly 0-11

Roslea booked their place in the league semi finals with three goals the key scores as they beat league leaders Derrgonnelly.
The Harps were already guaranteed their spot in the last four and while they may have scored once more than the Shamrocks they never looked like winners in a game that saw Sean Quigley plunder a goal inside the first 30 seconds.
The county man accounted for 2-04 over the course of the hour and he was in cracking form and proved too hot to handle of the Harps defence.
 For Roslea manager, Brian Gormley it was a case of getting ‘the show back on the road’ after a few disappointing results;
“It was our first win in three games after a loss and a draw so it was good to get back to winning ways with us getting into the business end of things.”
The Carrickmore native was delighted to sew up a semi final spot with two games left to play in the league;
“It is good surely, we wanted to make that semi final as soon as possible. It was a good game and we got the goals at the right times and they were the difference in the end.”
Shane Lynch set up Quigley for the first major of the day with not even a minute on the clock and that was to set the tone for the rest of the encounter.
Seamus Quigley floated over a free before the sides shared a few points with Garvan Jones and Gary McKenna pointing for Derrygonnelly and James McMahon for the home side.
Things got even better for Roslea as they plundered their second goal with the Quigley brothers combining to release Niall Beggan to flick the ball home.
Six points up Roslea were in command of the game as half time approached and although Leigh Jones pointed for the Harps Sean Quigley and Beggan replied and Roslea who were seven to the good at half time.
The second half was about consolidation for the home side although the county champions did come back into the game in the opening ten minutes of the second half when they hit three points in quick succession with Garvan Jones, Conal Jones and Paul Ward all on target. But having got the game back to just a four point margin and with the aid of a strong breeze the Harps were rocked back on their heels as Quigley swooped for his second goal of the game.
The same player pushed the margin to eight points with a point but the Harps came back with another hat trick of points but the goal they needed to propel their comeback into something realistic never came and Roslea were always able to clip over the points to keep their lead comfortable.
Sean Quigley did miss a chance to secure his hat-trick when Dermot Feely saved his penalty but he added a few points for good measure in the final few minutes in reply to Leigh Jones and Dennis Greene points at the other end.
