Lisnaskea Rovers 7 Glebe United 3

Lisnaskea Rovers maintained their unbeaten start to the season as they put seven goals past Glebe United.
The win keeps them at the top of Division Two ahead of Mountjoy United and Dergview Reserves who also boast 100 per cent records at this early stage, but it is the attacking threat of Rovers that could prove to be crucial.
They have managed 24 goals in their four league games so far and scored eight in their Irish Junior Cup match, with the front three of Shane Ingram, Brian McDermott and Kevin Curran proving too hot to handle.
“We have great firepower,” admitted manager Darren Graham.
“We are calling them the Barcelona three! Between Ingram, McDermott and Curran they are unbelievable. The pace of the two boys and then with Kevin’s accuracy, it is special. We are flying and everything is going good.
“The boys are flying on and off the pitch. There is a good buzz about the club, between the players, the backroom team and everyone in the club. For the first time in a long time we can say that things are going good.”
Despite the convincing score line against Glebe, the Rovers manager acknowledged that United had given them a test. “They were a good footballing side and it would have been our toughest game so far,” said Darren. “They had a couple of boys who could pass the ball and spread it around and there was a couple of times where they did put us under a bit of pressure.”
Lisnaskea started like a team full of confidence and it was not long before they had taken the lead. Shane Ingram opened the scoring when he ran on to Shane O’Neill’s ball over the top of the defence and lifted it over the out rushing keeper. Brian McDermott added a second when he converted a cross from the right wing, and Sean Keenan increased Rovers’ cushion, leaving the keeper rooted to his line as he fired a twenty five yard free kick into the top corner.
Glebe pulled a goal back just before half time when they reacted quickest to a shot that had come back off the crossbar, but Rovers continued to dominate in the second half.
Shane Ingram got his second of the day to make it 4-1, and although Glebe got a second McDermott made it 5-2, cutting in from the right and rifling a left footed shot into the top corner.
Glebe again pegged them back but Rovers made it 6-3 through Kevin Curran and player manager Darren Graham completed the victory to seal all three points.
