Ards 3 Ballinamallard Utd 3

Adam Lecky scored a hat-trick but Ballinamallard had to be content with a share of the spoils as Ards came from behind three times to earn a draw on Friday night at the Bangor Fuels Arena.

An uneventful first half the sides go in at the break scoreless but the second half was a much more entertaining affair as the sides shared six goals.

Lecky grabbed his first as the Mallards took the lead four minutes into the second half, firing high to the roof of the net.

However, Ards were back on level terms three minutes later as Craig McMillen tapped home after his initial effort was saved by Mallards goalkeeper James McGrath.

The Fermanagh side though responded within 60 seconds to regain the initiative as Lecky registered his second of the contest.

The Mallards joy was once more short lived though as Ards hit back through former Ballinamallard defender Emmet Friars for 2-2.

Lecky completed hit hat-trick as he capitialised on a mistake by Ards goalkeeper Aaron Hogg but it was not enough to secure the three points for Gavin Dykes side as Ards equalised for a third time as Michael Ruddy converted from the penalty spot after Ross Taheny fouled Joe McKinney.

The point lifts the Mallards back above Carrick Rangers into tenth spot in the Danske Bank Premiership table.
