Ballinamallard Utd 4 Carrick Rangers 1 Ballinamallard ended their league campaign with a comfortable win over Carrick Rangers at Ferney Park today.

A double from Ryan Mayse and goals from Ryan Curran and Ryan Morris eased Gavin Dykes' side to the points in a low key affair.

Ballinamallard began the game brightly and with only four minute played they grabbed the first goal of the game. Gary Armstrong was taken down by Daniel Kelly as he raced in on goal and from the resultant penalty Ryan Mayse tucked home to make it 1-0.

The Mallards looked threatening going forward against a Carrick side whose focus is on their promotion/relegation play-off against either Institute or Ballyclare and with 19 minutes played Gavin Dykes side netted their second of the game. Niall Owens skipped around a challenge on the left hand side before picking out Mayse on the edge of the area and he fired to the roof of the net for his second of the contest.

Carrick did pull a goal back when Kelly headed in unopposed from a Martin Murray corner but the Mallards were to restore their two goal advantage before half time.

A move that started with a great block by Colm McLaughlin in his own penalty area saw the ball moved to Ryan Curran and the striker drilled a low shot home to leave it 3-1 at the break.

Carrick saw plenty of the ball in the second half but Richard Brush only had the one save to make, getting down to deny Eamon McAllister and the Mallards went to seal the win as Morris headed home from an Armstrong corner to leave it 4-1 at the finish.
