There was medal winning success for two of Fermanagh’s top rowers as Holly Nixon won bronze at the first international rowing regatta of the season in Belgrade while Lloyd Seaman won a gold with his Tideway Scullers Boat Club from London at the Ghent International Regatta in London.

World champion and GB rower Holly was competing in a new quad at the first World Cup competition of the season in Belgrade and the four qualified for the A final improving their time by three seconds in the final before taking third behind winners Poland and the Netherlands.

Undoubtedly, this newly formed crew of Holly, Jessica Leyden, Bethany Bryan and Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne will be looking to progress further as the season heats up.

In Belgium, it was a win by the narrowest of margins for Lloyd and his London crew as they prevailed by 0.04 of a second, perfect preparation for their final regatta of the year, the Henley Royal Regatta.
