Enniskillen trio Fred Cleary, Gerry Lilley and Damian Nolan along with two others are taking part in the Marie Curie Malin to Mizen Cycle Challenge on June 10-16.

The cycle is from the most northerly point of Ireland to the most southerly point which is a distance of 430 miles. Fred and Gerry are both based in Enniskillen while Damian and the other two taking part are currently based in England and the group of five have set themselves a minimum target of £10,000 in sponsorship for Marie Curie.

“Damian had done it before and he gave myself and Gerry the push to go on and do it this year,” said Fred. “We all know people who have or are suffering from cancer and most people would know the good work that Marie Curie do. It is something that I have wanted to do for a number of years now and it is a good way to raise money for Marie Curie.”

Marie Curie provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home or in a Marie Curie hospice with their family around them.

All the money received by Marie Curie goes to helping their nurses and hospice staff to support more people living with a terminal illness.

Fred and Gerry recently held a very successful coffee morning and they would also welcome any donations via the following just giving page www.justgiving.com/m2m2017.

Donations can also be made to either Fred or Gerry in person or at either of the Lilley Centra shops in Enniskillen.
